Team Deathmatch and the new Capture the Flag will be the next game modes introduced in Squarelaxy: Unity.

Capture the Flag will feature a vertical level mirroring to avoid unbalanced teams based on the level.

Vanilla Squarelaxy had sprites highly inspired by Starbound, though we’ve modified them, we felt guilty and decided to draw them from scratch.

So Squarelaxy Unity will feature a new character design, but still a humanoid 🙂

Squarelaxy Player Sprite 2015
New features:

– Added Player Statistics.

– Added Achievements.

– Chat reply (Hotkey: R).

Minor changes:

– Version is now also shown in Log in menu.

Bug fixes & improvements:

– Fixed a bug with Invisibility.

– Chat whisper fixed.

– Level Editor eraser fix on Smart (metal, dirt.. etc.) tiles.

– Many minor bug fixes.

– AFK checker.

Minor changes:

– Username is now shown above Players.
– Tiles are now loaded much faster.

– Monsters are no longer getting stuck in front of a wall.

Player: Jump force increased from 13 to 13.5.

Pistol:

  • Shoot speed decreased from 0.33 to 0.3.
  • Reload speed decreased from 1.2 to 1.
  • Bullet offset decreased from 2 to 1.5.
Shotgun:

  • Shoot speed is now twice slower. (from 0.25 to 0.5)
  • Bullet offset increased from 1 to 2.
  • Bullets per shot decreased by 2. (from 7 to 5)
Minor changes:

– Skeleton sprite changed.
– Buffs are now removed on death.
– Picking up a weapon no longer allows you to shoot instantly.
– Monsters can’t kill you while having Invisibility buff.
– Monsters are no longer pushable (when having Invisibility or Magic Shield) instead you are pushed.
– Monster colliders changed. (Now is similar to their sprites instead of 30×30)

Bug fixes & improvements:

– Infinite Bullets and Mass Sleep powerups are now working.
– Bullets are now less laggy.
– You can now Respawn while having Magic Shield buff.
– Picking up the same weapon no longer result in infinite ammo.
– Fixed a small bug in Climbable behaviour that used to boost your climb speed.
